Tapasee was born on the August 1, 1988, in Ludhiana, Punjab.She was working as a software engineer when she ventured into modeling and that was her tryst with the camera.She did various print ads for brands like Uni Style Image and Motorola and has also been featured on the cover of leading Delhi magazines.She then participated in Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 pageant as a contestant from New Delhi.Though she didn't win the contest, she won two titles; Femina Miss Fresh Face and Femina Miss Beautiful Skin during the competition.
She made her acting debut in 2010 with K. Raghavendra Rao's romantic-musical 'Jhummandi Naadam' where she was paired opposite Manoj Manchu. She became an overnight sensation.She made her entry into Malayalam films with Mammootty's 'Doubles' where she played a Muslim girl.
